Our story
The Giraffe Shed is a literal labour of love, for love! Started by us – husband and wife team, Han and Neilo – it’s the realisation of a shared dream to create an alternative barn wedding venue like no other.
Who? Us? Okay then...
We moved back to mid-Wales for Neilo to work his family farm in 2013, and haven’t looked back since.
Han is an award winning wedding photographer (sorry, she’s not included in your wedding package, but she has the most amazing recommendation list of togs). After fourteen years visiting wedding venues of all shapes and sizes as a photographer, the dream to establish a truly incredible wedding venue was formed – and serendipitously, Wales was the perfect place to do it.
Neilo can build pretty much anything. Han is a creative powerhouse. It turns out that’s the perfect couple combo to create a killer alternative wedding venue.
We will both be there – we will help you set up the day before, we will attend your day from the word go, right through until the last drink is supped and will be there to help with the clear up the following day. We’re dedicated to making sure everything is as awesome as it can be.

The shed that stood on the site before our build was also named The Giraffe Shed by Neil’s Grandad Archie. We both felt our new shed had to continue the family legacy with the same name, and our lofty new alternative wedding venue was born.
The design of our shed has been formed through through the eyes of a photographer; bask in the incredible natural light that floods through the floor-to-ceiling glass wall, and the special glow from our huge epic reclaimed window wall.
The Giraffe Shed is part giant rustic barn with surrounding meadows to frolic in, part industrial warehouse with concrete detailing. It’s a living room away from home with sofas and delicious dusky pink, and the playfulness of candy stripe walls and neon lights.
It’s perfect balance of blank canvas and quirky wedding venue character to deserve the story of your big day. We can’t wait to help you make your own dreams a reality.
